Seat belt tickets in North Carolina

In North Carolina, every person in a moving vehicle is required to wear a seat belt. A seat belt ticket can be given to each person that is not in a seat belt. Though a ticket for a seat belt violation is not considered a moving violation, there are fines that can become costly. Seat belt violations for passengers under the age of 16 are more severe. At Cummmings and Kennedy, we know traffic laws, so we can save you time and money on seat belt tickets.

Children under the age of 16 must wear a seatbelt under the North Carolina Child Safety Seat Law. Any child under the age of 8, and under 80 lbs., has to ride in the backseat and fastened in an age-appropriate car seat.
